So in January my friend Jake was going on a cruise and he asked us (meaning me and my roommates Jennie and Kristy) if we wouldn't mind watching his imperial shi tzu Tank. We love that puppy so so much we were so excited to watch him! For any of you who know me really well, you might have thought I was crazy because I didn't grow up with pets.. I've never taken care of a dog or any other kind of animal that wasn't a fish. By the way, any fish I've had have died. But, Tank is so cute I agreed to it whole-heartedly! So it was that we had Tank with us for 4 days and 4 nights. The very first night he was here, he slept with me in my bed. Probably not the best idea for a person who is new to pets. I barely slept cause I was afraid he might fall off my bed, poo on my bed or attack me in my sleep. None of that actually happened so it was good. Since all of us work we had to put him in our laundry room while we were working. I'm the last to leave in the mornings so I had to be the one to do it. I thought for sure I was going to cry that first morning. He kept bawing on the door and crying! Poor guy! All day at work I kept worrying about that little guy. Wishing I didn't live 30 min from work so I could go check on him. I was concerned that some how he'd find laundry detergant and start eating it and die! I stressed out about it all day. Ask anyone that I was working with they'll tell you. It kind of made me wonder if I will be on of those worrysome mothers who won't ever be able to leave her children. So having a dog for a few days was so wonderful! I got to know the little guy so well! He became my buddy for sure! My favorite part was when I'd come home and he'd come right up to me and give me loves! No one ever gets that excited for me to come home! I learned so much about caring for someone else besides myself. I had to make sure he always had food and water, and had to take him to the bathroom and on walks so he wouldn't get bored!

We Really miss the little guy... P.s the bow... that was just for fun. He's a boy!
The week I was sitting Tank, I actually got a chance to do a really fun job. One of my students does freelance makeup for the lds motion picture studio, she was doing a movie and needed some help. So she asked me and my friend Mandy from work along with old and current students to help her out. We agreed right away!! So we spent about 5 hours one saturday starting at 7am!! That's how excited I was! I don't get that early for just anything. We were doing the hair for 200 extras in the Joseph Smith movie. You know, the one at the conference center. They are going to be putting it out on dvd soon and they needed to either make it longer or kind of expand upon a few things. I'm not really sure. It was the coolest experience! We had to trim up and cut the mens beards to look more 1800s, so no full beards. If they had really short hair we put wigs on them and if they were older than 18 and didn't have facial hair, they had to have fake beards and sideburns. The women had to have middle parts, buns and curls or braids around the face. I pretty much did the same type of updo on every girl. If there hair was short or fine we had fake hair that made the bun look bigger. Also, if it was really short or a non 1800s hair color such as bleach blonde highlights they had bonnets put on them. I had so much fun talking with all the people. I loved how non of the people even knew what movie they were being an extra for. They were just told a few months ago to grow out beards and hair. Everyone was so willing to do whatever, wear whatever. It was so cool!

KA, he's SO cute! Why don't you get yourself a puppy?? that would be so fun!
Kellyanne! Hey I got a kick out of your puppy sitting. We need to all get together! Time is flying by quick. By the way...I love my hair, even though it was done a while ago now.
What a fun experience for you! Having any kind of opportunity of using your hair skills is always a great thing! Can't wait to see your name in the credits:)
thanks for all your comments! Ash, I wish my name was going to be in the credits but, sadly :( It won't. Since we only did the hair for extra's and there were about 15 of us helping they won't be in.
That is so cool that you got to work on a movie!! I'm totally jealous!
