The next night I went with my friends Mandy and Jalaine to see Ingrid Michaelson in concert. It was at a place in salt lake called In the Venue. She put on a great show! So fantastic! We had a blast! We also got some great people watching in... there was Drunk girl, who was dancing and waving her cup of beer everywhere as she danced and then my personal favorite Number 1. Number 1 was right up front center stage staring at Ingrid adoringly and singing along to all of her songs and reaching his hand out for her the whole time. He was in love, he truly was her #1 fan! Here are some pics from the concert:
That sunday night I went to a special fireside for Temple workers. It was all so great and we got to hear from a lot of talented singers and piano players. We got to hear from one of the Osmond brothers (sorry mom, I don't remember which one he was.) It was a really great fire side and we all felt the spirit so strong there. I love music and how you really can learn about the gospel and grow through uplifting music.
Some other fun things I've done.... Last sunday, Joey, Katie and I went up to Kaysville for my cousin Sarah's little girl Mia's 1st birthday. She is just about the cutest little thing ever! I love babies! I always ask Sarah and her husband Justin if I can take her home with me... They always say yes. Someday I'll really take them up on it! It was so nice to be able to spend a sunday evening with Aunts, uncles and cousins. I love family!
Friday the 30th, we had a Halloween party at work. I dressed up as Elphaba from Wicked and Mandy Dressed Up as Galinda the good witch. It was really fun. I loved being painted green except that the paint didn't really dry and everything I touched that day turned green. I patted Mandy's son Jaxon on the his head and his blond hair had a big green stain in it! Hope that one came out! The girls where very creative and we had so much fun! The costumes where great, the food was great, we had scary appatizers and I made mummy hotdogs! Even though Halloween isn't my favorite holiday, I always love it at work. I love seeing everyone in their costumes. We had Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus, Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland, a fat cop, cute lady bugs and much more!
The craziest things I did this month was go to a Haunted Forest!! AGH! I went on a date to the haunted forest and I warned him ahead of time that I am terrified of that kind of stuff. He told me I did a really good job at staying calm... even though I did scream a few times and had my eyes closed for a good majority of it.Part of it was one in a building called the Pysco Manner I think and they had different scenes from scary movies. One scenerio we went in was the kitchen from the 6th sense, it felt so surreal walking through it. The scariest part of it was when we walked into a laundry room that was really dark and had tons of clothes hanging everywhere so we had to push through the clothes to get through it and there were scary people hiding behind the clothes! I screamed so loud when they popped out! My legs were shaking when we got out of there. The next part was the forest. The line was really long to get in but, they had some really entertaining things going on while we waited. They did a cool Ghost Busters thing, complete with legitimate costumes, the ecto one and there gun things... I can't remember what they are called. They also did a little Pirates sketch which was ok. The guy who opened the door to let us into the forest (you start out in a room much like haunted mansion or tower of terror) kind of looked like Dwight from the office only the dead version of him. It turns out he's in my ward and doesn't look like Dwight at all. But, I've decided that because I'm me and always give out random nick names to people I don't really know, I'm just going to call him Dwight. The whole forest was very long and had serveral different rooms and themes, each one more scary then the last. But, I survived and it was a perfectly good excuse to hold on to the arm of a very attractive young man.
Halloween night was fun too. We had a party at our house complete with scary movie (Disney's Watcher in the woods and The Village) and treats. I thought for a last minute party we did a pretty good job pulling things together. I made some Wassle which was so yummy! And an apple cobbler in the crock pot that didn't set quite like I wanted it too but it was actually pretty good.
So, Halloween and October are officially over and I've got to say, I'm looking forward to November! Here are some reasons I am looking forward to November:
1. I get to park in our parking space... last month I had to parallel park on the street and hope to find a spot close when I come home late
2. Jennie is coming to town in a few weeks for a visit. We were going to the Dashboard concert but, it was cancelled.... sore subject.... :( Now we just have to find something else fun to do.
3. New Moon comes out!!! yahoo!
4. Our ward is doing a "Singled Out" activity that I am helping with and it should be really fun
5. Thanksgiving of course!!
6. Closer to Christmas and going home to be with my family!!
7. New Dashboard Confessional album is coming out!! It comes out November 10th but, I'm going to buy it at 10pm on November 9th because it's midnight on the east coast and itunes releases it then! I know, I am crazy, I have this all planned out.
8. Just because I'm at home in my pj's watching tv right now, I just saw a commercial for the Madasacar Christmas special on Nov. 17th! I love that crazy King Julian!
